did the application, got asked security questions for my credit report, which i seemingly always do, since i use different mailing addresses, these security flags have botched and ruined a lot of applications for me, its tough to get past it and to a real human on the phone with just about any company. never the less i was told it was under review and that they would reach out. So I dont knwo if thats instant rejection or what, not too familiar with hsbc. hoping they dont send just a letter, because my ups mail box that i get mail in while on the road is a huge pain to drive to. do they typically reach out by email? What's a good back door number to try to get to to clarify any security concerns they might have? If theres even a chance that they arent out right denying me I want to try to go through with it
The Hong Kong Shanghi Banking Corperation (China Based Bank) has been working hard on marketing. For a few months this summer I would get a mailer 1 to 3 times a month. Mailers would be off and on again for the past year.

The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation now known as HSBC is HQed in London. Historically it has primarily been based in Hong Kong and regulated under the British HK regulatory system and has moved its global HQ back to the UK when sovereignty was handed over. I wouldn't really call it "China Based" by any stretch of the imagination as none of its top executives or top management operations are based in China. Cards issued in the US is issued through its US-based subsidiary which is I believe the result of HSBC's takeover of the NY-based Marine Midland Bank back in the 80s.
