what next?

Hello everyone.

I recently starting rebuilding my credit, which it has been challenging, but a learning experience.

In the last couple of months I’ve been able to get a few cards. Capital One, $300, Credit One, $300, Nordstrom $500 and Justice, $350. However, the main cards that I’m going after, unfortunately I have not been successful.

 TU 618

 EQ 621

i recently applied for target which I had back in 2009, I paid off and closed, they gave me the 7-10 email. My friend suggested to apply for Walt Mart which I did and of course got the thank you, we will email you in 3-4 days.

My credit usage is under 13% i do have 7 hard Inquiries on TU because i got a car in March and they run my credit three times

My goal is to obtain Chase Freedom, Amazon and TJ Maxx I have banked with chase for over 10 years. I got told I could go in the brand and it probably would be easier.

Suggestions? Should I call on walt and target of just wait for the denial?

Re: what next?

Congrats on your approval and rebuild so far. With your scores currently, I would wait and try to build those up a bit. Chase tends to like generally higher scores (not always the case but usually) and likes to see atleast 1 year of AAoA. I would first see what's keeping your score down and work the baddies off (if you have any) and let your accounts age.

Also, keeping your credit usage at 13% is dinging you a bit. The threshold is at 8.9%, 28.9%, 48.9%, 68.9% and 88.9%, each one you cross, there's a slight ding on your credit. I suggest bringing your UTI down under 8% to give your scores a slight boost.

Re: what next?

Do you think i should call target or Walt to find out and recon or just let it go.

thank you.

Re: what next?

Why not? It would hurt to call their (Wal-mart & Target)  recon department and ask for status.

Good Luck.

Re: what next?

I think those cards should be enough to build up credit for the next 2 or so years until all your recent HI also get wiped off. Then you would probably have an easier time getting your Chase card.

Re: what next?

Congratulations on the new accounts! ☺️

Be patient, let them mature for 6-12 months and you will qualify for many, many more.
