4 New Account...Interesting Sunday!

I applied for the Chase United card today and I was shocked, I was declined due to 24 new accounts this year.  While it makes all the sense in the world that I was declined, but when you are accoustom to hearing Congrats your approved, it does jolt you,  My Experian is at 700, I have a Chase Freedom account in excellent standing at a 5K.  My utilization is at 6% with now 150,000 worth of credit and I have 12 inquiries per bureau.  I don't regret not one account, maybe Brylane, lol but that is it.  I decided today that I would app for a few cards that I wanted and tomorrow I would garden for the entire year of 2016.  I now have all the credit that I truly want and need. So with that said:

Venture. $15,000 ( My old faithful Cap One)

Macys Amex. $4,000

Dillards Amex $2,000. Happy about this being a Wells Fargo account(first with them)

Bloomingdales $1,500

I will now manage my 28 new/newer accounts.  This time last year I had one lonely 2300.00 Cap One.  It was such a great run and it was so so much fun and exciting!

Not sure to congratulate or not... Are you just applying just to see if you would be approved?

In my thread I indicated that I apped for the cards that I wanted and while I was successful  4 out of 5, I realized that I need to really stop and garden for a year or so.

I so get that! I enjoyed my apping and approvals, too. Smiley Happy Now I am focused on getting the most out of each account and watching those pesky inquiries drop off.

And here is a fun (yes fun) tip to help ease the mind from recent INQ's and focus ahead.

Obtain your paper reports (however you do it) and take a pen and run a line through any and all INQ's dated 12 months and later (no longer factor in FICO scores) Smiley Happy

Or if preferred, bask in the satisfaction from your favorite credit card spreadsheets. You might just be surprised.

Those that are well beyond 12 months and nearing dropping off completely i draw an X on.

Congrats! Good app spree. I just got approved for the Dillard's AmEx last week, and banking with wells fargo anyway, and having a personal loan ( a small one just for rebuilding credit as an installment loan) a secured cc with $2500 limit, and checking and savings accounts, i reconned the SL right away and went up to $4K in 15 minutes. I would definitely suggest you recon with them for a cli right away. They seem to be more easy for the recons than they used to be.
