Congratulations on your approval that's a great card and a great limit. As far as I know $50K in total across all credit cards is the maximum at PenFed and it's been like that for a number of years. Recently other people report being told that there is an additional $25K per card maximum. Some people have individual card limits higher than that from before they estabished this new policy.
That is what confused me. You stated that:
In January of 2019 I went for a CLI on my first card and they gave me a $39K increase- I was stunned and thrilled but I realized it wouldn't be a Signature Card.
How can there now be a 25K limit on any one card but you got a CLI well above that limit at 39K?

That's because the $25K per card policy was estabished after I got the card with the $39K limit. Actually they were going to increase my first card from $2K to $41K but I got them to just give me a new $39K card instead because I didn't want to have a $41K platinum card ( they don't upgrade the card version after the account is opened even if your credit limit goes up). I'm not exactly sure when they started the $25K per card limit but I think it was about a year after I got the $39K card. Someone else might know when the policy changed. If I had to guess I'd say last January (January 2020).
It looks like I'm grandfathered in with the higher limit. I'm not the only one.
I wouldn't be very surprised if they changed it back to the way it was again in the future.
OK, that makes sense.
I'm more than fine with 25K on this card anyways but I like to know all the data points for all the companies I affiliated with.
Thanks for clarifying

Congrats on your 4th card!
No problem. Most of us here want as much data as possible. That's how I knew when they gave me that monster increase I should ask for a new card. If i
hadn't already been collecting data I'd have just taken the increase and I'd be stuck with a $41K limit Platinum Card. I'd still be ticked. ![]()
