Happy Black Friday Everybody,
I'm planning a 5 card app spree around the first or second week of December.
Does anybody know of any cards giving good limits right now? And by 'good' I mean $10,000 or higher.
I'll start with what I have:
Citi Thank You $24,200
Amex BCE $23,100
Penfed Visa $17,000
Dodge Mastercard $10,100
Discover IT $9,500
Discover More $6,250
Chase Slate $5,800
Barclay Arrival $5,000
Citi Expedia $3,500
Here's what I'm planning:
Navy Federal Credit Union (Just found a way to get in here under 'Household member')
NASA Credit Union (Turned me down in June. Reapplying for card with score over 800 and no baddies)
United States Senate Credit Union (Hopefully this one comes through with litle aggravation)
Capital One Venture (Heard they've been giving pretty good limits lately)
Has anybody heard of anything else or know something that I might be overlooking?
I'm figuring some creditors may be cranking up those approval limits a little bit, due to the impending Christmas season.
Btw, this is NOT a frivilous pursuit for un-needed credit or pretty new cards, guys & gals. I really need the additional credit for start-up financing and I'd SERIOUSLY appreciate any assistance anyone here might have.
Please let me know if you've recently heard anything or have any suggestions. I try to get to the forum a couple times a month, but I just don't have the time to keep my ear to the ground, with all the time and energy my start-up takes.
Thank You in advance!

I don't really have any suggestions - but i just thought I'd throw out that I got approved for Nasa FCU for 25k just this afternoon - with a lower score than you (730ish) and my highest limit card was only 18k- which happens to be my Venture. Hopefully you have similar luck. (they did ask for income verification though)

Hi, I'll wait to see if some more savvy folks reply about cards with ample limits. You seem to be doing well as it is, and with anything near that credit score, I am shocked NASA FCU shot you down such a relatively short time ago. I'm actually waiting for a utility bill to get here so I can finish my account app with them, but after seeing your post I'm even more leery about applying for a CC with them.
I want to wish you the best of luck with your start up, I know the emotional ups and downs that can come with them.

Do you mind Irc426, if I ask around how much you make?
I'm trying to gauge their criteria for a 25k approval.
If you don't feel comfortable sharing, I totally understand.
Thanks in advance,
John

What ever you do start with the toughest first. If the Senate FCU is anything like the State dept. I'd just leave them off or make them your first. lol
Nasa would be the first I'd hit because of the soft pull.
Next Senate FCU, NFCU and the Capital One. The last two are lenient on inqs.
Have you considered any business credit cards since you're looking to help fund a start-up? I'm pretty sure you can get business cards just by showing intent to start a business, especially since it seems like you are interested in starting a real business instead of a "business". I would recommend hopping over to the Business Credit subforum and asking around there as well for not just credit card advice but other financing options.
Good luck on whatever you decide to do!
Is there a reason you don't have any Chase cards?
A United card should yield a higher than average SL
sorry missed seeing that Slare
still valid though

Alliant started me at $20K.
BBVA Compass NBA started me at $15k.
Those were a bit over 2 months ago. I also got $30K from NASA at that time (they denied me last year), and $5400 from Citi that I increased to $21,300 when the card arrived.
What are you rcurrent scores and INQ's across all three? You should have no issues with NFCU and Cap1 for approvals or likely pretty high SL's on both. I'd save them for last. NASA will be a SP to join and if you app credit products that same day. Given any thought to the Ink Plus? There have been startups that have pulled it based on personal score and you also have a card with them currently. I know more than a few have had ID verification issues with BBVA but if you have a fairly high EX score you stand a chance of a large SL there as well.
