AMEX 3x CLI on ACTIVATION!!!!

I am giddy as a zoom!!!!  Apped for AMEX Everyday on Saturday after years of denials due to subprime scores ... went to review, which I said "DENIAL!!".  Called in by chance on Monday night and the rep processed my app over the phone, said they just needed to verify it was me opening it...came back and said "I have wonderful news...."  I nearly fainted lol.  Score 660 EXP, Line was $2,000 but she said on activation I could put for increase.  I figured this was BS until I read threads here with a seemingly high success rate.

WELLLLLLL, just acitvated and put in for 2.5 my limit andddddd...BOOM!!!! 2.5x CLI!!!!!  I know I have to wait 6 mos for next one but so worth it!!  In May I will definitely go for 3x.  :-)

Side question:  On the top of my page it says MEMBER SINCE 2003!!!  I forgot I had an AMEX back then I was only 21. Good standing.  So, will this backdate ??  I'm told by many yes, some say AMEX no longer does it -- an AMEX Rep said they do.  Anyone have confirmation ?

Cant wait to app for the BLUE CASH and Delta Gold in a bit !!!  Happy Credit gardening all !

Don't be confused.  They stopped earlier this year.  Never rely on what an Amex CSR tells you.  I assure you, it won't backdate.  It might say 'Member since 2003,' on the card but it will report to the credit bureaus as opened in 11/2015

+1    Also, backdate isnt always a term understood by Amex CSRs, but they probably refer to the MSD (member since date) which indeed will "backdate"  but that has no real value to anything (except I guess if you show your card to others who are impressed by that sort of thing, in which case you probably don't want to know them!)

As a side note when does Amex report new revolvers? I've seen some threads say within a week or two after opening -- others not until after first statement. Again, confusing. :-)

congrats  i got denied for the ED in OCT with a 676 EX fico after reading all the Amex threads i should have apped the green charge people say amex has relaxed and are approving those more so instead of going for that revolver.

I don't recommend charge cards unless you can always PIF. also I think they report differently to your credit and affect utilization
