Hi everyone!
I haven't been as active on the boards this year but have been checking in from time to time. A little backstory....I started agressively rebuilding early last year after finding the forums, and after some success around the previous holidays in 2014 with store approvals. I had many victories and some defeats. My file was still a bit tainted, but over the course of the last year and a half my credit limits met and surpassed the 100k limit... which is AMAZING considering I started out with one authorized user account and three classic rebuilders (Merrick, Cap1 Platinum, and the notorious Credit One).
Well, I had a BOA charge off that has been reporting a high balance FINALLY removed from Experian. It was supposed to go on reporting through September but learning from the forum that EX may exclude as early as three months early....I called and requested and sure enough BAM! So my score jumped from 647 to 702 (WOW) and I decided to finally go for the Amex that has eluded me three times prior. I am telling you guys...the time from hitting the submit button to the point of seeing Congrats, you have been approved felt like FOREVER! I had to get up from my computer and walk away, lol...my mind was spinning with thoughts "maybe they will finally let me in with a 1k limit" .."this is what I have been working for and waiting for".."oh my gosh, what if it is yet another wasted HP"....nervously I took a squinty eye peek at my laptop and saw the words I had been waiting for!!! I set up my account, anxious because I hadn't seen anything yet regarding credit limit....and when I finally got to the account information page I see 10,000.00!!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY WOW!!! I had to blink and read it again and again. I wasn't expecting that kind of approval....I am in shock and extremely thankful. Now to figure out which cards to close because the credit limits are actually beginning to make me nervous now. ...NEVER expected that to be a concern one day coming from the credit desert like I did.
Moral of the story...be patient...follow the advice of the forum, it is invaluable...AND NEVER GIVE UP!!
Congrats on the great SL
