"Computer override!"

After reading up on this forum for a few weeks regarding credit line increases (CLI) I wanted to try to obtain one for my AMEX Blue Cash Everyday (BCE).

Ive been seeing 61 days as the starting point here. Some said wait 91 days. Others say wait 6 months. And of course you have to be precise because of the account opening date. This is the point that led to me calling AMEX becuase Experian (EX) states that the account was opened on 6/1/2018, but I know for a fact that I didnt apply for the card till mid june and then it wasnt issued till another 2 weeks later. (Seems EX will roll all dates back to the first of the month for account openings)

So I call and verify the date with the nice customer service rep (CSR), and of course while I had the authority online, I asked her about an increase. The CSR said "I wouldnt recommend it, your account is too new. Maybe we can short list you for an increase in 6 months." I wasnt goona argue I said thanks for the free advice and she could short list me--whatever that meant.

Historical Note: I inlcuded AMEX in a bankruptcy that was discharged back in 2003. It was for a Gold Business Card. They currently have my "since" date as 1999, so they are holding on to some information of our shared past. So I assumed that the CSR was probably taking that into... account. Probably not though, right? I really overthink this stuff too much.

Back to our Future:

Well a week passed and I said to myself " you know this AMEX , thing with AMEX ... just go for it." I had nothing to loose and only 3x to gain. So I clicked the button. And it worked. Im now at 3K. Now if I recall correctly (IIRC) the clock resets and if want another, I have to wait another 60-90 days.

This is day 72 after date of account opening.
