I applied for the AMEX SPG online on 6/12 and was instantly approved for $1k. HP from Experian, score was 666 per MyFICO. This would be my first ever AMEX card after applying many times in the past and getting denied.
Apped for the Delta Gold Skymiles shortly after on the same day, received a message of "Can we speak with you on the phone?". Upon calling I was informed that the system automatically placed the application on a 3-5 day hold due to two apps in one day. I called on the 5th day (today) to inquire on the status and the rep was able to process the application and approve me over the phone for $5k. Not sure if they did another HP, I haven't receive any notifcation of an inquiry yet. My Experian score is showing 660 as of today. Might be worth noting, that I also have a collection from T-Mobile for ~$400 that was listed on my report last November. Working on trying to get that removed. I'm really shocked I got approved for both cards, but this will be great for expanding my credit profile.
Congrats!
Definitely congrats on two good cards, but I have to admit it's a bit of an eyebrow raiser that you couldn't pay your cell phone bill, yet want a luxury hotel rewards credit card...
It wasn't that I didn't pay my cellphone bill. It's over T-Mobile claiming equipment (router) wasn't returned when it in fact was. Despite that, I've offered the CA PFD several times and they refuse to remove from my report, so I refuse to pay.

Congrats on the approval. Regarding the issue with T-Mobile, have you filed a complaint with the CFPB? As long as your claim is valid and T-Mobile is in the wrong they should be able to help.
Nope, haven't tried that. I spoke with their Twitter Support/Executive Office and they claim that the debt was written off and they dont deal with credit reporting. Maybe I'll give that a shot.
Very nice, congrats on the Amex approvals !!
