AMEX Gold Magic

Well my credit journey has been a bumpy one to say the least but today feels like a solid win. About 2 months ago I paid in full a charge off from AMEX. They offered me the Oasis card which I turned down because I just had no good purpose for it. A month later I applied for the Cash Magnet and was declined due to score being too low. Yesterday I decided to get wild and apply for the Gold card. Went to in progress. I called recon today and was approved and told they’ll be rushing the card and to expect it within 72 hours. So instead of being stuck in Oasis for at least a year I’m back in with Gold after 2 months and some change.

That's great, congratulations!

Re: AMEX Gold Magic

Congratulations! I’m a little confused, though. What was the need for freezing the Experian?

Hi, its against Forum TOS to discuss freezing a specific credit bureau in hopes of forcing a lender to pull another. Please refrain from mentioning that here thank you.

On your approval, very risky indeed turning down Oasis and somehow getting approved by Amex NOT pulling Amex. Thats their bread and butter to pull. In the future please give your lenders the opportunity yo rightfully pull whichever report they need to access in order to access your credit worthiness. Congrats againSmiley Happy

Re: AMEX Gold Magic

Thank you for the heads up. I’ll edit my post. I had a feeling that turning down the Oasis was the right move. I’ve had good luck getting back in the door with creditors lately and felt that I would be able to do the same with AMEX.

Congrats on the new card!

I've had the PRG since April and have loved the card and with all the new improvements it's even better.

Enjoy!
