Thanks @Anonymous! Yes, "lightning did strike twice" as they say with these two applications but they served a purpose in getting some great SUBs and exploring whether I had reached maximum lending ceilings. No worries!

I too am accustomed to getting the lowest APRs and got 22.49% APR on the Surpass. I was 0/6, 0/12, 3/24 when applying with FICO EX 08 819. My inquiries were TU 2, EQ 0, EX 7. Included in my welcome packet was an AA letter confirming my 819 EX score. I also got a request for a 4506-C after approval but before my card arrived. I assumed the 4506-C request had something to do with the APR so it's interesting to see someone with very similar stats get the same APR.
Thanks @Biergeld, and the comparison is indeed very interesting. I had no requests for 4506-C but otherwise the situations appears quite similar. Of course, APRs on travel cards like these from major banks are rarely competitive in the grand scheme of things, so between that and pay-in-full, it's mostly a moot point. But I do like getting the best APRs for which I can qualify, and for "just-in-case" situations where I might pay some interest temporarily if something came up.
