I work overseas and tend to travel a lot. I noticed that my company uses Delta Airlines and operates several smaller ones to send employees home on scheduled leave and decided to capitalize on possible reward miles. I read that the Gold Delta Skymiles American Express card was one of the easier AMEX cards to get. I cold apped and was approved with a SL of $5,000. These were my stats prior to submitting the application:
EQ (Fico 8) - 622 (14) Inq
TU (Fico 8) - 621 (8) Inq
EXP (Fico 8) - 666 (7) Inq
(5) Additional inquries since last report through MyFico and three new accounts.
(3) Collections reported, (2) PIF, (1) Paying as agreed. Utilization is at 8%, (2) Late payments reported in the last year
I also read that it was possible to apply for the AMEX PRG or Platinum with the same hard pull. I took another chance and was instantly approved for the AMEX PRG. Makes me wish that I tried for the Platinum. Once again, I could not have done this without the knowledge and experience contained in these forums. Thank you all! Finally, I was thinking of getting a secured NRewards card through Navy Fed since I am member. I was denied the CashRewards card two months ago and I will be in a good position for a possible early graduation with it in 2017. In the last month during my app spree, I was denied a secured CC with Citi, BankAmericard Cash Rewards from BOA (They countered with a $99/$500 SL secured version which I took), denied a Discover It, approved for a Barclay's Rewards MC with a $1500 SL, and now the two AMEX cards. Should I get the secured NRewards card from Navy Fed or just go to the Garden? Thanks for taking the time to read this post and any opinions would be appreciated!
Congratulations on your newest approvals! Nice SL on the Skymiles! Enjoy all of your successes! ![]()

Congrats but if you wanted the PLAT you should have gone for it.. the underwriting criteria for the Platinum/PRG/Green are all the same!
Ahhh that's unfortunate for me. I guess I was being a little too cautious. At any rate, this is helpful information as I did not know that. Thank you!

Oh. Also- the 99/500 BofA card is well worth it... mine just unsecured after 5 months, , and I PC it to a cash rewards visa
You have a couple of great cards that will grow!
The NFCU secured card isn't a bad idea-or maybe you'll get lucky and have them send you a preapproved mailer shortly after your denial like they did to me...
I plan on getting the secured NFCU card mid-December. Maybe I might get that lucky. Thanks for the info!
