Re: AMEX Platinum approval

So I've switched my Sirius billing to the Platinum card, signed up with Walmart+ because I've been paying grocery delivery fees, enrolled for the Saks $100 credit, attached the card to my Hilton Honors and Bonvoy memberships and selected a primary airline. Hotel and airline perks and points notwithstanding, I have about 2/3 of the AF covered. Feeling somewhat vindicated. I didn't enroll in anything I wasn't already paying for. It won't be long before the SUB and spend points put me in the black. 👍

Re: AMEX Platinum approval

Congratulations! 1. Turn off Pay Over Time - The platinum card is not a card to carry a balance on. The interest rate is way too high (If you need to carry a balance. Contact another lender ask for APR reduction carry it there. 2. If Pay over time is off Amex will eventually send you offers to turn it on. 3. Use card pointers browser extensions to find offers you'll actually use. 4. When your Anniversary hits contact AMEX via Chat & request a retention bonus. 5. Pay attention to your redemption rates. Only pay with a SINGLE point when Amazon runs promotions. Generally speaking NEVER pay with points. 6. AMEX Platinum only gets 5X points if you use the AMEX portal if not it's 1X only! (The Green 3X is the least restrictive with travel) 7. You must log into Amex and enable card benefits. Otherwise you will not ANY receive credit for Walmart+, Uber. etc 8. After you enable the benefit for priority pass it takes a few weeks to receive the paperwork in mail. 9. Use your AMEX card to pay your cell bill and wait until the 2nd billing period to cancel any cell phone insurance you presently have. 10. You must select an airline to receive your credit. Wait until you're confident that you're going to use a specific airlines, because you can only change it once a year. 11. Use the Global Entry credit NOT the TSA Pre-Check credit. It takes longer to process, but it more valuable. 12. Features like "spend & split" hold off on enabling them until AMEX sends out a bonus for you to use them. Enjoy Your New Card!
