Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Keep your current profile (and FICO) growing and balanced and after a year or even less you can expect that card to grow like Jack and the Beanstalk.
Congratulations!

It usually takes overnight.

, though not for as much as I hoped or even expected.
I asked the banker to call underwriting, but they had no access beyond a regular CSR. The phone lady asked me income and did NOT read anything about reviewing credit or HP before proceeding to tell me I'd get a letter in 5-10 days. Has anybody had that before? If I have non-combined HP's I'll be furious. Otherwise, I'm just waiting for it to groooooooowwwwww. At the very least I'll be getting $165/$500.
Congrats on your approval!!!
I know some people have gotten CLIs before 6 months, but I've had the best results waiting the full 6 months before requesting one. Best of luck!
Card shows up in my account now. Same CL, shows up as "Platinum Plus", whatever that means... Do they usually upgrade to VS when the CL reaches $5k?
What I forgot to ask in the branch, but now see online, is that they gave me 20.99%. This is my first card where I wasn't given the highest interest rate, so that's a good sign. I also see my card number in my account. Am I able to use that now or do I have to wait for the card to come and give me the CVV?

You'll need the physical card so you have the security code.
Platinum Plus just means basic tier Visa. When you reach 5k, they don't automatically upgrade, but you can call and request it (treated as a product change and takes a few weeks IIRC). Having said that, unless there's a specific Signature benefit you plan to use, it probably doesn't really matter.
Correct. If the card is originally issued as $5k+ AND is a type that even has VS as an option, it will be issued as one. Otherwise a quick call and probably a month wait to get the replacement card. Note some cards aren't issued as VS. I am an AU on wife's $60k Platinum Plus and one of my cards is over $28k and is not eligible for VS.

Yes, you can request a VS. It is an absolute nightmare -- the only bad experience I've had with BoA. I requested that my $10K Travel Rewards be upgraded to a VS and they converted it to a Cash Rewards VS (I already have a Cash Rewards at 5K, and Travel was my daily driver). It has taken over a month so far and it looks like it's finally fixed, but it took at least a half dozen phone calls to get it resolved.
Other than that, BoA has been great. The Platinum Plus would indicate that you have a relationship with them, right? Do you have investments with Merrill Lynch or a significant Chk/Sav account with BoA?

I had no relationship with BOA/ML before this card; I opened a savings account with all of $300 after my approval so I will get the 10% bonus on redemption. Do they issue regular platinum or only platinum plus and signature?
Card arrived today! UPS Next Day Air FTW! I like how it's shiny, though I'm slightly disappointed the numbers were printed on the front. Have many gotten the new version yet?
I was also trying to hash out something interesting in the cardmember agreement... apparently purchase protection only applies within my home state or 100mi radius from my street address?
I do hope to get a CLI soon and get upgraded to VS for the extended warranty if nothing else, seeing as (unless I missed it) there's no extended warranty feature.
Congratulations on the BofA approval!
