APPRVOVED FOR MY FIRST AMEX CARD

Just did this on a whim after getting prequalifed and got approved for the BCE!! Not the best SL but im so happy to finally be in the AMEX ecoystem now and can eventually get some SP approvals down the road . Whats the deal with getting this card to grow. Any pointers I would apprecaite!!

Also - for the 3% online retail cateogry is this anything purchased online or are their limitations?

Edit : So just found out today 8/3/22 - got double pulled from EX and TU. Yesterday it only showed EX. Is this normal that they do 2 hard pulls?

Re: APPRVOVED FOR MY FIRST AMEX CARD

Very excited for you @mfinsmi1 . You will love American Express. I use Amex Green everyday for everything. It has no preset spending limit, so unfortunately I cannot answer your question regarding credit line increases. Last year I used the prequalification tool and was offered the Gold Delta SkyMiles. I was very excited and snatched it up. The only time I've requested anything from American Express was just a few days ago when I requested to product change from Gold SkyMiles to Blue SkyMiles. They made the switch instantly and then overnighted me a new Blue card. Furthermore, they thanked me for 25 years of membership. I really cannot speak highly enough about American Express. You are going to love them.

Re: APPRVOVED FOR MY FIRST AMEX CARD

Congrats! And like most cards, just use a lot, PIF and on time, rinse and repeat. If you got something like a $1k SL, it may take a little longer to grow, as they may not approve the 3x CLI at 61/91/181 days. If so, just be patient and keep at it every 6 months.

Congratulations on getting into the AMEX ecosystem. During my credit rebuild, I started out with the Delta SkyMiles Blue card with SL $1000 in April 2019. I kept using the card, occasionally carried a balance but tried to consistently PIF. I got an automatic CLI $2500 after my 10th or 11th month. Of course, each profile is different but I think with consistent usage and good behavior, AMEX will eventually open the doors even further. Definitely takes time but the effort was worth it. As @OmarGB9 also mentions, it's definitely worth trying to get CLIs on your own at those 31/61/91 intervals as well. That should probably give you a sense of how they view your profile, etc.

Avoided credit cards after ruining my financial health but got back into the game in 2019 after a 20 year hiatus
