@vollybal wrote:Ok, back story first, sorry...So about a month ago, I was approved by NFCU for an auto loan at 3.19..Thought that was pretty good...Went to the Dealer that I test drove the SUV at and presented them with the draft fro NFCU...the sales guy tells me to hold on a minute and gets his finance person in to talk to me...she tells me she can beat that rate. I was like ok, but I do not want you shopping me everywhere and killing my inquiries. She tells me that there are only two place that she will send to as she is sure they both with come back with better rates...30 minutes later, one came back with 3% and I was like ok done...She did inform me that if the other one comes back that she wants that CU as it is a better CU. I was like ok whatever. Next day, she calls and tells me Achieva CU came back with 2.79%, I told her ok, and went in to sign the other CU papers.
Fast forward to a week ago, I get a call from Achieva CU and I was thinking it was to say thank you for letting us service your car loan...Well it was and then the lady stated that they would like to increase my relationship with them...I was like how? She mentioned that they could do a personal loan to pay off debt...I was like thanks but not interested. She then mentioned that since we already pulled your credit if you want to, we can use the same pull and offer you our Rewards Mastercard. I then asked what kind of rate and SL. She told me that it would be 11.9 APR and for the starting limit, since she saw that I was with NFCU and had two cards around 15k, she would ahve no problem getting the underwriter to approve a 20k SL. I was floored as this could not be this easy. She told me if that was ok to apply and get the application over to the underwriter that day, they would send me the results in about 30 minutes. I was like well, since it will not require another pull, why not...Not expecting an approval or if it does get approved a SL like that.
Received the email and it was a pre-approval pending paystub.
I sent that and BAM! approved with the SL of 20K!!! I am super impressed with this and super happy that they used a already pulled report.
Thanks for putting up with my long post!
NICE story. Congrats on the SL of $20k and the lower APR on the auto loan
Is this CU geofenced? If not, how to get in there? I thought every CU requires you to be a member first before dealing with u then how fianance manager at car dealership was able to get you into this CU without you being a member first??

This Cu is open to join if you are a resident of Florida. There are a small handful of these type of CUs here and the dealerships partner up with them for more business for the both of them. When I was approved, it was required that I join the CU, hence the reason I had to go into the dealership and sign a couple more papers for the joining of the CU. Basically the dealership pays 10.00 for the membership and I am accepted with that paperwork.
Thanks!
Congratulations on your Achieva CU approvals!
What a great read! 👍 I almost felt as if Achieva's auto rate and CC product were presented to you as awards! Lol
Congratulations on both!
Congratulations!! It feels nice to see both the dealer and the CU helping with your credit journey. Achieva seems like a nice CU. ![]()
Regarding membership eligibility, I took a peek into their application form and it looks like they aren't geofenced, although their loans might be? Not sure.
None Of These Apply, But I Want To Be A Member!
Eligiblity through Donation
GOOD News! You can still qualify for a membership with Achieva Credit Union if you make a minimum $10.00 contribution to the Achieva Foundation along with a one-time membership fee of $15.00. Membership through the Achieva Foundation does not change the residency restrictions on Achieva Credit Union loan applicants. We give back to the community through Achieva Foundation, a 501(c)(3) Corporation, which distributes classroom grants to local schools.
The website works a little bit weird when you're just trying to get info and not apply for anything yet. You have to use the three-bar thingy at the top left

Starting Scores: No Scores (03/2018)@vollybal What an awesome story with multiple positive outcomes. It's nice when everything aligns perfectly.
Amazing story! Congrats on both approvals! One of those few rare instances where a CSR wasn't lying...lol.
