Why did they ask for a mortgage statement for a credit card?
@Anonymous wrote:Why did they ask for a mortgage statement for a credit card?
I would assume it relates to DTI ratio, my best guess.....I currently rent so I didn't have to do that personally.

@sugarcreek67 Congrats on your Affinity approval! Welcome to the family! ![]()
If you don't mind me asking, how many INQ's and new accounts did you have?

@Anonymous Because my mortgage doesnt show on EX only TU and EQ. I dont know why they dont report to all 3 but on the application it asked about a mortgage payment and I put my payment info in the app. Affinity just wanted the information to add to the DTI .
@Taurus22 new accounts 7 last 8 months IQ 12 in 2 years EX Fico 8 751, never a late payment, always PIF, 0 baddies... i have only 2 year credit history was an all cash guy for over 10 years
I spoke to the underwriter,he was a really nice guy, told me I would have gotten a higher SL if not for all the recent accounts. Told me to give it 6 months to build a relationship with affinity and then talk to them about a CLI. Just another really good reason to hide in the garden til next year :-)

Wow.....you've been busy for two years. Affinity has some of the most helpful, friendly staff (possibly better than AOD honestly)....it has become my favorite FI. I was like you until 2013, always a cash guy until I realized I needed credit to reach higher ground. And I agree, you probably need some time in the garden, but when you break out you'll have a ton of CLI's ready to harvest. Great job and congrats again!

Congrats on your Affinity Rewards approval 🥳

Yeah, I'd hold off on AOD for a while. Their underwriting is pretty tight. It's a great card though!

I meant I was going to check them out as far as accounts ect but not applying for any cards.

@sugarcreek67 Congrats and do you remember how long the new card it took to show up on your credit reports? Has it shown up yet?
