@Anonymous wrote:Morning everyone,
Had an Alliant Visa approved about two weeks ago, and personal loan approved today using the same pull. I shot very low on requests for both because Alliant is way too conservative - turned down a card request previously. Their Pinnacle scoring system is an unusual system that other lenders don't really use, and Pinnacle scores are often as much as 50 points below FICO scores.
I've had the Alliant Checking and Savings for several months now, and wanted to further develop the relationship. Their CLI requests are HP though, so I won't be requesting any for at least a year.
0% rate on both purchases and balance transfers for either 12 or 18 months on the card (rep told me the duration, but I cannot recall which).
Glad to be expanding products to stregthen the Alliant relationship.
Have a great day!
Congrats humu!
I too have a Checking and Savings with Alliant as well.
My plan is the further develop my relationship with them as well..maybe later in the year.
Thanks, dasingleton, I appreciate it! Best of luck in furthering your relationship as well.
I will share that Alliant seems to be new account sensitive. I had two new Chase accounts from May, and Citi AAdvantage. Total of 3 new accounts in 2016 that are each three months old.
My new Navy Federal account is not even showing up yet, but they cited the reason that they could not increase the initial CL as " recent new accounts opened." So just a data point.
No new inquiries on EQ for a full year, if that information helps as well.
They did offer a 2.7% auto loan right over the phone with me while approving the personal loan application. The loan officer said there was an offer in my account based upon having good credit.
I'm not sure if I will take it as my current auto loan is at 3.5%. I don't know if that is enough of a difference to go through all of that. Any thoughts? I have not crunched the numbers yet.
Thanks for the data points humu. I am in the process of building / buying a new house…so can’t have any new accounts at the moment. By the time I close late this year, I will only have 1 new account within the last year. I have a few apps planned at that time (e.g. NFCU, Alliant, Western). I also planned to app for CSP next year as well. Definitely need to plan accordingly.
I am sure you have ran the numbers by now…but he auto loan rate would be worth considering. Especially, if you have few years left. It could be a significant savings.
Congrats again my friend…Have a good day.
Hi, dasingleton, thank you! I hope you have a good day, too. Looking forward to the day I can congratulate you on your new Alliant and Navy Federal cards!
One Alliant personal loan payoff feature I just found out about is absolutely AMAZING - I can make 2 or 3 payments on the loan now in advance, and not have another payment due until end of November or December!
Not all lenders allow this. BECU specifically told me to be sure not to pay my auto payment more than 12 days before the due date, or it would not be credited to the payment due, but only counted in the prior period.
This is a very nice feature with Alliant! My loan was just approved yesterday, with a payment due date of 9/23. So, the first nice feature is that they give you a month and a half before the first payment is even due.
I then checked with an Alliant representative and they told me it was indeed possible to pay in advance and have it credited to future payments, thereby actually advancing the next payment due date.
Just tried it out and made one payment - it works great! My payment due date now automatically changed to 10/23- with the new due date showing immediately!
I think I will make another payment tomorrow and then I will not have to worry about a payment again until end of November. I will of course create a reminder for myself so I won't forget at that time.
This is a really nice feature!
