Finally! I've been trying to get my hands on a new AmEx card just for the sake of replacing my Costco TE Card!
I've tried applying for several cards with AmEx for the past 5 months now and hasn't gotten any luck until today!
I just logged in to my online account to do some checking on my account and I saw a little grey box just below the menu strip on my account home.
It says that i've been pre-approved for the AmEx Blue Cash Everyday with $250 Statement Credit Promotion after $1,000 purchases within the first 3 months.
So I did apply for the card (thinking that there will be no additional HPs since i'm already an AmEx member). Not an instant decision so I called the backdoor number.
Approved with $4,500 SL which can be adjusted at the point of card activation via CSR! She also expidited the arrival of the card. Another HP though (so much for thinking existing cardmembers = SP!)
Awesome! Finally not worried about the Costco-AmEx breakup next year!
In a few months I'm moving all but 500 from my TE Card to this new card. ![]()
very nice!
Nice! Congrats!
I show a pre-qual for that card, but not sure I would get it (or what SL I would get), have no Amex history at all, and I wanted a Chase card first, but scores need to grow more for me.

I'll say you are on the right track. If you want that Chase card, work on that first. I know they're very stingy with recent HPs and new accounts.
Chase is my target too, but maybe next year.
About the SL, the Credit Analyst told me that they hand out a "nominal line of credit" upon approval. But when you call to activate the card, you can adjust that line of credit. Now as to whether it's going to be another HP or not, I dont' know because she just told me to wait and see what the CSR would say when I activate the card.

I got approved today for BCE with scores much lower than yours and nothing showing up on the pre-qual site. My Exp score is 674, and I believe that's who they pulled.
Congrats

congrats
Congratulations!
