A couple of day ago I requested a CLI on my AmEx Blue Cash and was aproved immediately on the website. Today I received this email from them...

•Use your Card for your everyday purchases

Thank you for your continued Card Membership.

I have had the card for about 17 months. Opened with a $2,500 limit, automatic increase at 3 months to $3,500, and I just requested it to be raised to $10,000. Now they are telling me I have been selected to raise it another $1,400, which would put me almost a thousand dollars over a 3x increase from my previous limit.

Do you think this is just what their internal system rates my profile at? Has anything like this happened to anyone else before?

I think you could give it a shot, but might come back with a denial due to a recent CLI already. Although i could be totally wrong and they will give you another increase. My guess is yes its the internal system.

Congrats. let me put it in perspective for you.

you started @ 2500 17 months ago.

After 61 days. could have raised it to 7500

181 days later should have been raised to 22500.  that is from having the card only 8 months. youve had it twice as long. good thing youve come to my fico. yes weve had this experience.

So you will be at 11400 now.

So in 181 just get your max limit for being such a good customer. ask for it to be 25k . and you will never need to ask again. Good luck. and congrats again.
