@ElizabethKate Many thanks!
After my BK, I realized that I had made the same mistakes more than once, but this time with a BK. I could say that the biggest factor leading to the BK was medical and eventhough that's 100% accurate, I needed to make some serious changes to ensure that it won't happen again. So, I made a commitment to learn the most I can about credit and personal finance, and figure out not only what I could be doing to prevent failure, but rather what I should be doing to thrive! 👍
I realized that since having to retire early from this disability sneaking up on me, that I am bringing in far less money than I likely ever have in my adult life, yet my credit has never been so good! 🤔 I said in another comment recently how getting my own AMEX (charge card) was a personal goal of mine and after 43-years on this Earth I finally have a Gold Card! That's not to mention the several other AMEX or AMEX-branded cards!
I'm now moving into year three of my rebuild and this year will be all about streamlining, basically cutting out what I don't need, while gardening and working on SP CLIs exclusively. So, looking back, it's been an eventful couple of years and I'm excited to see where I could take my scores in the next 12-months. I just try to remind myself that it's a marathon, not a sprint!
That being said, thank you for recognizing the hard work and commitment. It's becoming second nature now, so I tend to forget how easy it was to mess up my credit in the very first place! 😂
I will try to share as many DPs as I can realizing just how helpful they could be. I also save details regularly so I could see my numbers throughout my journey on a single spreadsheet. Please feel free to ask if you need DPs on any of my other cards. I likely have some solid info to share!
Thanks again! 😊

Congrats on your Amazon Store Card approval.
Congrats @SuperFlyEDSguy. This card is a no-brainer for Prime members; I have enjoyed my Sync Prime Store card (not in my signature) for almost eight years. FYI, this card will typically max out at $10,000.
Congratulations on your Amazon store card approval!
@NoMoreE46 Good to know though I don't think I could ever come close to using that much, however it would do wonders for my utilization! 😂
Prime is awesome, it's amazing how much value it packs, not to mention that it's likely saved me thousands of dollars in shipping over the years! The expedited shipping is probably the best part! The next best part is probably how easy it is to deal with returns or even customer service issues in general. They really do go out of their way to make sure that you're happy!
Thanks again! 👍

When I read about your story and your commitment to your own self improvement as well as helping others I just feel the essence of this community coming through. This is how it should be, people openly sharing their challenges and successes to move us all forward faster.
I do hear also you on the marathon and not a sprint mindset! 😄 I too have to remind myself of that on this journey.
I look forward to hearing more about your credit adventures and cheering you on & thank you for sharing your inspiring story with me 🙏🏼
Nice job, and nice rebuild!
Congrats on the approval ![]()

@ElizabethKate Absolutely! I'm at that point now where I must have that mindset, I simply have too many HPs. It's true that I needed those HPs to go from not having one credit card in my wallet to having an AMEX Gold Card in 20-months, but (a) I probably could have used fewer HPs with similar results, yet I got overzealous at times, and (b) additional HPs are now guaranteed to do the opposite and cause cards that I should easily get to be declined because of too many HPs within too short a period. So, it'll be tough, but I'm gonna have to control that urge to try for new cards so I could play the points game better. It's going to be even tougher since I should do this for at least a year, but I'm hoping through December 31, 2023! [sic] 😬
I was actually going to reply to the first part of your comment, but wanted to share the why and not just the what behind my newly kicked-off adventure into gardening! You said it well, really well actually! When people come together and work towards a common goal without trying to one-up the next person, things get done exponentially better and faster too! The community mindset should be just that, humbly sharing those experiences with the next person because we all have a story! Some people may go through tougher times than others, but the truth is we could never really tell because what may seem trivial to one person could mean the proverbial end of the world to the next.
As for stories, there is never really any shame in one if it helps even one other individual in their own journey! Some people may be embarrassed about their BK and never speak of it, but if you acquired knowledge secondary to that BK and if that knowledge could help others prevent or help dig them out of their own mess, than to me at least there's a moral and ethical obligation to impart said wisdom so it may actually help. In the age of the Internet, we may not even know if we're helping other people as I'm certain a great many read the boards, but may never personally comment in them. I think it was at least three years before I joined and started commenting! So even if there's no tangible indication that someone is thankful for a tidbit of information that you shared, the very fact that you are sharing it for the right reasons should be satisfaction in its own right, and that's why I think the folks on this board are amazing!!! People here seem genuine, helpful, humble, and take the time out of their own lives to help complete strangers because they just want them to succeed in the same way. That's a powerful thought! It also goes to show the maturity level of those people who frequent these boards. Now that's a community that I'm proud to be a member of! 😊👍
It was my pleasure sharing and hopefully I will be able to share a lot more as I could fit these stories into a book! My ups and downs in life were either way up or way down, which at the very least makes for good stories, LOL! 😂
Be well. ✌️
