Being a longtime lurker I see how elusive auto CLI is with Chase. Card opened in Sept 2017 with 1.5k limit instant approval. Used and kept balance below 50% throughout the month, paid off to below 10% before reporting/statement, except twice I forgot to make my second monthly payment and it reported about 25%.
Two months ago I was in the market for a new laptop and wanted to go through Amazon. I secure messaged chase to ask about a 0% offer I saw on Amazon, and about a CLI. Rep told me it would be a HP and I chickened out, and they weren't offering any promos at the time. I still bought the laptop though.
Logged into my account about a week ago and saw I now had an auto CLI of of 2.5k, bringing my CL up to 4k. I use the card pretty often with some recurring items from Amazon and rarely use it elsewhere. Always pay way more than minimum payment and let a small balance report.
To sum up:
Asked rep about CLI but declined going through with HP, a month and a half later auto CLI from 1.5k to 4k. Scores at the time between 685-705 with 30%ish utilization, no new accounts in last 6 months (until today, oops), moderate usage each month with small balances reporting. No bads/lates on report. No other chase accounts
