I have been rebuilding my credit for about a year since covid hit. My credit is in the mid 600 across the board I have 1 charge of auto loan and one charge off credit card (due to fraud). that hasnt been removed yet. I also have one $200 walmart card, one $4500 discover it and a $4500 secured loan and 2 au 8k and 20k.....So you can see my profile is thin file I dont even have the 5 recomended primary accounts. I applied with American Airlines Federal Credit Union for membership I used a family member as my sponsor to qualify. my EQ is my highest score at 675 Which is what i hear they use for credit pull. Any way I applied for rewards card and thy told my my application was pending then I get the allert they pulled my EX
my lowest score!!! which was 657 (according to them) but I checked all my ficos 3,4,5,6,7,8,9 lol no score matched that so I dont know what version they pulled but fico said my EX score was 632
. they asked my for proof of address and income which i figured was a good thing because they didnt say no! I sent in the info and 1 day later I was called by the banker processing my application she asked me a few verification question then approved me for $5500 my biggest card yet even with 2 baddies and 2 inquries . I am excited. I dont see anyone posting about American Airlines Federal Credit Union AAFCU but they seem like a cool credit union.

Congrats on the approval!
@Anonymous Congrats on your membership and approval! On this board folks are mostly chasing the co-branded cards and I am not sure what the requirements would be for membership.
Congratulations on a really nice approval!
I haven't really seen much about this CU as well. May have to check them out, depending upon eligibility.
Thanks for your DPs and experience!
Congratulations on your AA Credit Union membership and Visa approval, @Anonymous!
