I have had an arduous and bumpy road to credit rebuilding. But I was able to cancel five sub-prime cards yesterday.
But I digress. I find myself using my AMEX Blue Cash Everyday card most all of the time, for the cash back: 6% on groceries, 3% on gas and 1% on everything else. Overall, I use it more than my Citi Double Cash Back. I only use the Citi for all else other than groceries and gas.
At any rate, I was making an airline reservation last night - and an offer for the AMEX Delta Sky Miles card popped up. My credit is temporarily thawed, so I applied - and was approved for 10K!
Then tonight, I was on this forum reading about another member's Cash Magnet approval. I went out and looked at the card - and with the $250 back after spending $1000 over the next 3 months + 0% interest for 15 months - I thought WHY NOT?! So I pulled the trigger - and was approved for 10K! 20K approved with AMEX, really, in the last 24 hours. And I already had 4 AMEX cards - so now I have 6.
I started with a credit score in 2015 of 537. And after I got my score up to about 660 - AMEX has been with me all of the way.
And AMEX has THE BEST dispute process - bar any! Yes, I am a now a loyal card holder!
CONGRATS on the new cards!
Amex is awesome.
WOW! Congrats on both your approvals and awesome SL!!! Way to go ![]()
Congratulations on the new approvals and starting limits! AMEX is a great bank. ![]()
Wow that's impressive! Congrats! With PRG's rumored new structure that maybe something to look into as well.

Awesome, congrats on the dual approval!! I really didn't appreciate Amex enough the last few years until coming here and reading up on them. Now, they're definitely at the top of my list.
Congrats! I'm a big fan of them too. I'm curious about their dispute process you like so much. Thanks
@polaris2011, every time that I have called AMEX to disupute ANY charge (either re-curring, or a one-time purchase) - they immediately allow the amount - and I am not responsible for that amount until they have researched and resolved the dispute. And they have ALWAYS resolved any of my disputes (since 1982) in my favor. Their "default" is to be on the side of the cardholder. They make the merchant prove otherwise. Their dispute process cannot be beaten.
