I started with a 1k starting limit. At the three month mark, I requested the 3X increase but was only given 2X.
So I was at 2000 going into this increase and I was approved for the full 3x to 6000.
I have seen that the 2K limit seems to be somewhat of a breaking point where they start to trust you more. 1k limits can be hit or miss some people get the 3X at three months and some people can't get an increase for 12 to 18 months
