Amex BCE Preferred

I applied for an Amex Everyday card 3 months ago and was approved for $1000 cl. I requested  a cli @ 61 days and was denied. Credit Karma showed today that I was a very good canidate  for a BCE Preferred card. I applied and was approved and given a $4500 cl.

I dont get it?  I now have no use for the Everyday.

Any thought?

Re: Amex BCE Preferred

What were your Fico score and util rate during the time you applied for CLI?

Re: Amex BCE Preferred

My util % has been almost the same @ 7-8 % .

Fico jumped on TU from 692 to 711 this week on credit karma, but that was because KC and tu dropped all of my inq's for a this week.? On myfico there is no change.

Re: Amex BCE Preferred

Yes but when they checked credit for BCE the new score should have been showing then. When you get the letter it may have the credit bureau used and score at that time on it...
You can always close the unneeded card don't think u can transfer CL over to new one b4 then b/c card must be 13 mths old to move limit from...
So decisions decisions .....
Congrats on both cards... Welcome 2 the Amex family and the Forum!!!!!!

Re: Amex BCE Preferred

congrats.  i'm the opposite, i'll be moving my BCP line to my EDP line down the road and closing the BCP.  It's a great card, I just find I'm using the EDP in conjunction with my platinum more for points.

Re: Amex BCE Preferred

Congratulations, I'm in a similar situation. I was approved for a BCE in December and received a cli upon activation giving me a cl of $19k. Last week I was approved for the BCP but, with a sl of only $2.6k.  I will use the BCP alot more than the BCE, mainly for groceries but the sl will make that hard.  From what I've read, I can't transfer some of the BCE's limit over until it's 13 months old. I'm hoping to get a cli on the new BCP around August or September to give me a little breathing room on the BCP.

Have you thought about putting a lot of usage on the BCP and go for a 3X cli on it at 61 or 90 days.  Then put some usage on the ED for the following 6 months and shoot for a cli on it.  That should give you around 11 or 12 months age on the ED, then wait a couple of months and move the ED limit over to the BCP.  It will give you a couple of simple goals to occupy yourself with while you're waiting.

Re: Amex BCE Preferred

Can you go for a PRG with that same pull to score buncha MR points or am I just talking nonsense?
