Shocked. Applied on a total whim on the grounds that "charge cards are easier to get." They are, because I applied for a BCE immediately after and was declined. It is my understanding that since I am in the club now, it is only a soft pull to try, so I may try for a regular blue, maybe there's a difference there. Not sure, but super stoked about this approval. I probably had no business applying.

I can't wait to get a credit card from Amex. I'll take and keep the charge until long after that happens for backdating. I will probably pay 1 AF and then cancel after. Wouldn't mind a PRG upgrade in the future. I am overwhelmed. I have been working on my credit for the last 5 years and it is seemingly finally paying off. I am hoping the Amex TL will scare Chase into giving me a CL on my Freedom that's been stuck at $500 for over a year, lol.
Just posting to let potential appliers know my credit picture would've prevented me from applying usually but I just had a "Screw it." moment because I have always wanted an Amex.

FYI it's my understanding that Amex quit backdating TLs, unless you're wanting the MS date for aesthetic reasons on the card itself. What are you referring to as the "regular blue"? I thought that was the BCE?
Also I wouldn't hold your breath waiting on auto luv from Chase lol. I went a year and a half before giving in to a HP

Hey, thanks! There's a BCE and a "Blue Cash" that isn't preferred or everyday. I can only imagine it's "easier" to get but I think I'll just wait. Chase has really just hated me. They shouldn't have even approved me. I even used the heck out of it over that year but it was a pain to pay it off just to use it again. I'll wait until i am CSP eligible and cancel both my $500 freedom and SLATE. I really only want about 4 cards. CSP and BCE/P being 2 of them. If capital one won't pc my qs1 to a qs I will be closing it once I get the cards I want.
