My HH is the only Amex card I have. I am interested as to why you think the cash back products they offer are a scam, though. Would you mind elaborating?

I feel AMEX overly controls the Cash Back aspect of things for a few reasons. The reasons really limit the main reason people enjoy cash back CC's:
1. You cannot actually redeem the cash back you have earned for actual cash back. The cash stays in AMEX's pot 100% because AMEX is a closed circuit payment network. They are the bank and payment network. Unlike Chase who allow you to reclaim your earned cash back as cash with no penalty.
2. If you want to apply cash back to your payment you must make a $25 out of pocket payment before your earned cash back will be credited. AMEX has now added $25 to their pot just so you can earn the right to apply your cash back to your payment.
I just feel that lack of flexibility to a customer is very unfair.
