Amex cli but had to ask three times

I asked for 30,000 first and it asked for income verification so I logged out and then asked for 25k and the same thing so then I asked for 20k and was approved.  Think Amex is tightening up on there generosity since the recent changes they have had.

Based on some posts here it seems sometimes requests for 25k or more trigger verification so I dont believe anything has changed. Was income verification or a 4506-T requested? If it was income verification I would have provided it for a 30k line. 4506-T is more invasive. At any rate congrats!

Congrats. i did the same thing yesterday. only asked for 20k as not to take any chances. Still nice limit. Welcome to the 20k club.

This is their income verification. they want the 4506 t even for that. But it is not a FR. it is just income verification. really do any of us need more than 20k on a single card? this is what i asked myself yesterday. and the answer was no. so now i can work on another amex card. if i app for it.

taxi818 yes 20k is a good limit and I do have the blue cash with 12k on it so Ill just wait 6 months and request 20k on it

Gotcha. Thanks guys. In that case I would have done the same Didnt realize the 4506 was required for income verification. Thought that was separate for some reason.

Amex is the only lender that ask for it. I think if they did for me. i would just close my account and live with whatever happened to my utilization.

taxi Im fine with providing pay stubs, letting lenders call to verify employment with human resource department if necessary or even sending in a W-2 copy but that 4506-T seems a bit much. Dont think Id close my cards but I would pass and not request any further increases.
