I wrote a dejected post earlier about how I was pretty sure I'd just gotten my first Amex denial. Basically my plan was to app for a new BCP and then upgrade my BCE afterwards to double up. My new BCP app came back inconclusive, though, and given my recent track record with other banks I figured it was another denial and I needed to just garden for a year...
Not so!
I just got an email saying my BCP app was approved! They gave me $10K (again!) and 19.49% APR. Again, no HP. This puts my total Amex exposure at $91,000. Unbelieveable.
Upgrade link for the BCE is still unavailable, but I'll keep an eye out.
For what it's worth, my Amex EX FICO is 748. The pull date is from before my two failed EX inquiries last week. Just yesterday I moved limits and cancelled one Amex revolver (ED) to make room for this one since I was already at 5.
When everyone else said no, Amex still says yes!
Awesome! CONGRATULATIONS!
That is a lot of Amex credit... no "hand slappin" there! I'm glad you didn't have to wait.
You going into the garden now?

Yep. I don't have anything else I'm willing to roll the dice on for a while now. Pretty sure most other banks will deny me at this point anyway.
Congrats!! I have to wait until September to ask for another CLI. I love Amex!
wow 90k+ across amex exposure on revolvers? Must have quite an income?

With Amex, it doesn't seem necessary to have a super high income to get that exposure IME.
I'm not exactly sure what they look at, income is one small part for sure. I'm starting to wonder if location is also a factor? As well as them wanting to entice one's family members to carry their cards? I've added siblings to some of mine. Now some of them receive invitations to apply with Amex. One of their sons received an invitation to apply. The invitation was mailed to my home. lol
They are using some form of software thats linking people together that are related.
My Amex exposure is a little over $76k with revolvers.
Congrats and now shake your groove thing on that dance floor.
I'll just say my Amex TL is well over half my income.
