Another Key Bank card to the portfolio

Key Bank has been very generous to me in the past and I saw that they had a new Cashback Mastercard.  Took a hit at the application last week.  Forgot about the application because they are an EQ puller and my EQ freezes and thawes all on it's own.  EQ can't figure out why it does it, but it usually thawes the first two days of every month.  Well after my recent BB&T approval, I decided to hit that magical button last week.  I got a message from Key Bank yesterday saying the application was denied.  I assumed it was because EQ was frozen Smiley Indifferent  I put it out my mind.  Then today, I get another message from Key Bank saying the application was approved.  I didn't believe it until I received an alert from Credit Karma about the new inq on EQ.  Still in a little disbelief, I phoned Key Bank.  Sure enough, I was approved for $7,500.  Not to shabby considering all the other things I have with them with only $45 in checking.  My BB&T approval showed my EQ Fico at 744 with 18 inq's

Re: Another Key Bank card to the portfolio

Any advice on dealing with Key? I’ve had the Latitude card for 4 months and I still don’t have a CLI button in the account. I assumed there is some waiting period but do you know how long?

Also right after I got the card they launched the cash back card. I’m not a fan of points so when I previously received the points card offer in the mail app’d for the latitude instead. Now I want the new cash back card but I’m wonder how they react to giving out multiple products in a short timeframe.

Re: Another Key Bank card to the portfolio

Congrats on the new card!

I heard about this one somewhere and wondered how it is.

You'll have to review it for us in a few months after use!

Enjoy.

So, do you know if Key is geofenced and if they require deposit accounts to get a credit card?

CLI after 6 months.  I've gotten products back to back with them in the past.  I would advise wait the 6 month period and ask for cli.  Then apply for new card or do it vice versa.  All my cli's have been SP's even though they told me HP.  That's been my experience

Thanks.  I dont know if they are geo-referenced.  I got my 1st card with them without any other active accounts.  They dont seem to mind new accounts or inq's IMO
