App Spree Approval and Denials

Background. Sorry its long but hope it will also help others

with DP in similar situation.

Started rebuilding 4 years ago.Mostly been in garden till now.

Profile at time of apps.

0inq on all reports havent applied for credit card in years except loans

TU-687 EX-689 EQ-704   AAoA-5.8yrs AoYA-13mo income-86k

BoA unsecured -0bal/500cl - 4yr1mo (asked for cli but denied)

Citi Secured -0bal/200cl (stuck) - 3yr9mo

Indigio MC  - 0bal/300cl              -3yr11mo

Kohls (AU)  -1100bal/3000cl     -15yr6mo

USbank (AU)  0bal/600cl            -8yr9mo

Self Loan 125/525bal 1yr1mo (now paid off and closed)

2 &3 yr old self loans paid off and closed 2yr term

2 collections -1yr old both paid but hasn't reflected yet,

One is PFD that shows $1100 bal other im stuck with $197bal.

APPLICATIONS:

BOA C REWARDS- DECLINED- have checking and saving and 1 CC ( reasons below)

CARECREDIT- Approved? - but failed 5sec video so might not go thru.

CAPITAL ONE SAVOR- DECLINED - Showed Preapproval but declined (reasons below)

DISCOVER IT - Approved?- Report pulled had old cell# so they couldnt verify, wont reapply

LOWES         -APPROVED- 5000sl/25kCL  ( called next day

and after asking income. approved CLI for 35k!!!!). I asked to bring it to 25kCL (dont want issues w/ sync) bad idea?

VENMO VISA  - APPROVED      - 2000sl    

PAYPAL MC 2%- 300sl (hoping it will grow)

OVERSTOCK- APPROVED -2700sl ( i figure this card is good for utilzation)

BIG LOTS   -  APPROVED  -1500sl (have no idea why i even applied for this one.

Not reapplying with discover or CC because

i realized its already 5 new accounts and am

worried about AA from Sync because of

such a large limit

Main reasons for denial were mostly all the same

-Collection on file/ unpaid status

-Utilazton too high on one card (its a AU so not in my control)

-Type of Loan accounts ( The BOA Anylast told me that self type of loans

are looked at negatively almost like payday loans(her words)

 I'm gonna go in the garden for 6-12mo and hope SYNC doesnt close my lowes account/

If it helps justify your big lots card, look at it like I look at my Target card and myWalgreens card since they also sell food and home health products.

1. Helps with overall Utilization 

2. Emergency food card

3. Backup/stock up home health supplies

4. Quick last minute gifts (see, I remembered)

5. Stocking stuffers

6. Gift cards (some let you buy and add money to a variety of gift cards they sell in-store)

@WorkInProgress9 congrats on all the approvals - i would recommend getting that AU account off your account if its negatively impacting you
