I read the forums a ton but don't post much (thanks for everyone for all the knowledge)...however, I just wanted to share my app spree/CLI successes today.
CLIs
Cap 1 Platinum CLI $1000 from $3050 to $4050
Cap 1 QS CLI $1000 from $1950 to $2950
Discover IT $500 from $500 to $1000 (had this card for two years, about time)
Instant Approvals
Amex BCP $2000 (was hoping for more but I'm in with Amex! I know it will grow)
Bank of America Better Balance $5000 (actually very surprised at this limit...I wasn't expecting this amount because they have denied me several times)
USAA Preferred Cash Rewards $7000 (officially my highest limit card and it's a Visa Signature!)
That's $16.5k! Yes, I know you can all add, but I had to say it out loud because I still can't believe it. :-) I am over the moon right now! I started in January 2014 with scores in the high 500s across the board. I couldn't get a hamburger on credit. After a lot of hard work (and reading this forum), I got my scores up to 669 EQ 690 TU 714 EX (according to MyFico - I paid off/down some credit cards since the last update so they might be a little higher). My utilization is at 21% (I know, it could be better) and my AAoA is 3 years.
I got several crappy "builder cards" while working on improving my credit. All have limits under $500, all are paid off, and at this point all will be closed. I don't need them anymore, but I am grateful I had them because they helped me reach this point. I will keep the 6 I have above and let them grow. Well, I don't know about that darn Discover growing but whatever. :-)
Two years ago I would have never imagined to be at this point.
