Apparent Target Red Card Auto CLI, AMA

Logged in to Target to make sure I paid my balance. Today is supposed to be my 4th statement cut date.  No statement available yet, but it does show my CL doubled  to 1000 from 500 yesterday.    Can't complain, makes up for my early Avant cancellation earlier in the week.

DP:

Opened in May w/ 500 CL.  EQ08 was probably ~595

4th statement due today but not yet cut.  EQ08 ~685

Congrats on the CLI!

What kind of spend does it see? Do you let the statement cut and PIF every month? Update your income?

Cuz AMA and all. Smiley Wink

I did not really intend to use it much because I am not much of a Target shopper per se, BUT i did end up running 300 through it on two consecutive months because of large, urgent purchases.   5% on that was nice!  $31 "saved" in 4 months.

One of those months reported on statement and was then PIF immediatel.   The other one just ended this month and it looks like  I paid it in the nick of time to report a 0 balance.

I did "update my income" a couple times a month.  There was no actual change.

YMMV and my experience is just an anecdote.

The RedCard is certainly what I call a "useful store card".  Along with Amazon, it is a keeper for me.

The RedCard is certainly one I would keep around. I've grown mine from $300 to $5k in a few years. Update your information, give it some TLC, you'll be golden. I got mine upgraded to the MC version this summer. Don't really plan to use it that much, have better cards for everyday spend, but will go to Target everyso often to keep it alive.

CO Quicksilver - $500; Barclay's GM BuyPower - $700; Target MC - $9,000; Chase Amazon Prime - $8,000; PNC Core - $27,000; Citi DoubleCash - $10,300; Citi Simplicity - $29,500; Chase World of Hyatt - $12,000; PayPal LOC - $1,500; PNC Cash Rewards - $48,000; U.S. Bank Altitude Go - $15,000; AmEx Platinum - NPSL ($7,800 POT); Elan Max Cash (Alliance CU) - $25,000; Alliance CU LOC - $2,000; Wells Fargo Autograph Visa - $10,000; Chase Freedom Flex - $8,000; Venmo - $1,500; AllTru CU LOC - $10,000; Citi Strata Premiere - $11,000; Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select - $14,300; Gemini Credit Card (WebBank) - $15,000; Chase Sapphire Reserve - $26,600; Citi AAdvantage Global - $15,500

Thanks for the info.

They have been sending me ads now of course and they're pretty decent so I'm sure my card will find organic spending over time. I'll just let balances report and pay them. Having a store to compare to Amazon when I buy things now is nice, I'm just really not looking forward to having usage report on such a small limit. As long as I keep it under $200 though it's fine.
