My last CLI ask for the Apple Card was January 2022 for my 1 year anniversary. It was declined. I decided I wasn't really going to use the card until I could put some good spend on it (salty from the denial). I had one $20 charge, then .99 charge pending; otherwise I had not used the card in like 7 months.
I had received a CLI on another card and thought 'How can I get the Apple Card up?'. (Current limit $4500, SL $4000) I did a search for tips and tricks. A webpage mentions asking for no more than 20% increase. I thought that was strange since I've just asked for an 'increase' and whatever happens, happens...
I texted: "Hello, I'd like my credit limit increased to $5000" I thought it might still trigger the automated response, it did not. I had to wait for a rep. At 10 at night. Slow...
Answered the usual salary question and received the CLI before the rep let me know it was submitted!
I hadn't seen anyone ask for a specific dollar amount increase, thought I'd share. Maybe I was due (1.5 years old) and/or maybe I sold myself short by only asking for $500, but I'm very happy with an even $5000 limit on that one.
WooHoo!! Congratulations on your Apple Approval!!👏🏼🍾🥂
Congrats on your Apple Card CLI
If I am reading this correctly, you requested a $500 CLI and they approved the specific increase?
Requested increase to $5000, which was a $500 increase, yes.
Congrats on your increase! However just as a DP for others on here you asking for a certain amount using their stand text messaging system to Apple/GS had nothing to do with the amount of your increase. It's BOT you're texting to and not a real person. The CLI amount was strictly by their interal process no matter what you typed after "Credit Limit Increase". The only time you'll get a real human when you ask for a CLI via messaging and probably why you did is if the system is down. Usually during late night or very early morning hours during PM on their servers, and even then they have no say so nor does asking for any set amount come into play at all.
