We FINALLY got our physical cards today!
It's our daughter's birthday, but I got a present too!
I can't imagine I will use a 1% card, but it's heavy & cool & I love it. Ok, I'm a dork.

Definitely like the titanium over the steel of my other cards. It's all titanium and doesn't have the plastic coating like the steel cards. Most of my steel cards need replacing every ~2 years becuase the plastic starts to peel away.
I got the Amex platinum when they first started offering steel cards, but lost it so had to have it replaced. It was not the same as the original card. I beleive the original card did not have the plastic coating and they changed it to save cost.

We got new Propel cards from WF because they made the print legible and then we got new cards again when we added our daughter to our card and the printed every card again. We also had to get new card numbers when I lost my wallet. So, we've never had a card long enough for separation. I thought Apple Cards were laser engraved, but they are not (maybe they used to be).
I definitely prefer titanium cards over steel cards, but both kick the crap out of plastic imo.
I guess a steel card could be constructed like a titanium apple card a titanium card could be constructed like a steel WF Propel or AmEx card. I think plastic coatings are related to RFID instead of material though. I know they cost a little more, but I wish more banks offered metal options (or just different options).
@FalconSteve wrote:I have been denied for Apple Card countless dozens times for failure of them to confirm ID. So has my wife. Today, someone at GS actually called her. She gave them her Apple ID and answered those ID questions (where did you live, which account is real, etc). They made it sound like it would be at least a few hours, but the iPhone went off pretty quickly. 'That denial was quick', I thought to myself.
They approved her for a $6000 SL. Not great, but not terrible. We decided to accept since they are known to allow SP CLI. It is too bad that I just had to replace my laptop and just changed to a MacBook air (loving the M1).
I also was added as a "participant", their version of an authorized user.
I said I would garden unless Apple/GS finally said yes. Now, back to the garden. Even with great credit, banks don't like new cards when you want a mortgage and I want to be able to get a favorable rate as soon as the market stablizes. Even with a score around 790 right now, why tempt fate?

Congrats, looking at Apple Card as my next card
