Combining these into one post as the contrasts between the two are interesting…
After being denied a year ago for an Apple/GS CLI due to the infamous "You have not used and paid enough of your Apple Card credit limit" I tried spinning the wheel again. Apple/GS does not have a way to request a specific amount, so I filled out the form and clicked submit. This time I recieved a 2K increase to 16.5K.
Some DPs: this card is two and a half years old, with one CLI (from 12.5 to 14.5) about 18 months ago. I have used it to buy a Mac and an iPhone, plus use it for the 2% Apple Pay when I don't have a card with higher rewards in that category (such as my recent dental crown).
Inspired by that success, I decided to try a CLI on my BofA CCR. In contrast to Apple/GS, BofA does have a prominent field for requesting a specific CL as part of a more detailed application form. I asked for 50K, spun the wheel, and was approved for 45K. From other threads on this board, I gather that is the maximum exposure BofA's algorithm is willing to take with me.
Some DPs: This is an older grandfathered card with an APR of prime + 5.4. BofA has never given me an auto-CLI on this card for reasons unknown. The last CLI that I requested was about two years ago. The "request a credit line increase" link is still showing on the web page and in the mobile app.
My last hard pull was more than 24 months ago - 0/24 - and my FICO 8 fluctuates around 800.
Congratulations on your CLIs!
Nicely done!! Congratulations on your Approvals!!👏🏼🍾🥂
