So I posted here awhile back wondering if I should app for the Blue Cash Preferred after receiving a pre-qualification offer for the BCE.
Decided to bite the bullet and send in a few apps and I got approved for an 8k limit on the BCP.
I looked at my fako's and I have a 633 EX, 680 EQ, and 731 TU. But I pulled them about a year back and the EQ and EX were higher so I'm not sure those numbers are entirely accurrate. Other cards: 1k BoA Cash Rewards, 5k Chase Preferred (just approved a week or so ago). Have some old delinquint student loans on my hisory, but they've been rehabbed and on-time payments for coming up on two years. BoA card has been open for about a year and paid in full each month. Utilization usually kept below 20%, though at 32% last month.
I'm beginning to think that with these online apps your rent / house payment and income might pull more weight than we think, as well. So make sure you count all your income and report only your portion of the rent if you split it.
Also was approved for a Chase Freedom 3k, and requested a CLI on the BoA card which gave me a message that said "I'd receive notification in writing in 5 to 7 days" which I take to mean I was denied and they're sending me the credit letter with the reasons for denial.
All-in all, went from one card with 1k to 4 cards with 17k total CL. Pretty good two weeks!
Congrats on your BCP & Freedom! Great limit on your BCP, i'm jealous. Enjoy your new cards

when did you do the BofA request? online? I'd log in and check or else call the backdoor number and see about a recon (you already took the hp, but I have seen many times getting that message and then later or next day see the new CL)
I did it online last night probably around midnight. Should I call them before I get the letter in the mail like, tomorrow? Or wait and then request a recon.
Just an update. Went ahead and called the number b/c I got anxious. They said it was auto-denied because the card had not been established for 6 months. No inquiry on my credit report, though. So they said I could call back next month once I hit the 6 month mark and try again. I guess I have a bad memory, because I thought I had this card open for much longer!
Will let you guys know what happens in March!
Way to go, grats ![]()
