Approval: Discover IT . Experian data point

EXperian Hard Pull at 717 and very high APR (27.96% I think?) but got it more for the 0% BT Offer.

How much will opening the new CC impact pull down my FICO.

Adds an inquiry, lowers the Avg Age of Accounts, but also increases Utilization by 7000, which is good right?

Really depends on your file and how old/thick it is among other things like derogatories etc.... If you're file is on the newer side you can expect to take around a 10 to 15 point hit to your scores, but without knowing more particulars it's just a guess. Scores will bounce back in no time as long as you're not seeking a bunch of new credit. Congratulations on your Disco approval!

Thanks!  Yes 7000 SL.

My other cards are Chase Original Freedom (17000), Amex BCP (5400), Citi DP (8600).

I've had each close to maxed out for almost 14 years, but am finally beginning to pay them down.  Kind of surprised I was even approved. Discover rejected me once before.

I doubt it will pull you down much, if your balances were all at 0, I imagine you would have a much higher score ~780+

If you need help/advice on getting those balances paid down, also feel free to ask.

Congrats and the approval and good luck getting those balances paid off

Re: Approval: Discover IT . Experian data point

Sure, any advice would be great.

I've paid off 11,000 of my original 31k CC debt, hoping to be debt free by the late Fall or Christmas, if all goes well.  My FICO has always been fair at best because of the high utilization, but I couldn't get approved for a 0% Balance Transfer card, which meant being stuck with hundreds each month in just interest.

Only went for the Discover because I am paying so much in interest.

It's now something like $140/month on each of three cards.  I know Dave Ramsey says credit card companies are evil, but that 0% Promo APR approval will really help reduce my bills (assuming I pay that Disco off within such time, which I absolutely will)
