When I started I had around 480ish average... I had 7 baddies. I started out sending letters to PFD & I also called and offered to pay to speed things up. Even if they would not delete, I paid. Unless it was approaching its 6-7th year then its gone anyways..

11 Months later....1 baddie left that is PAID but shows 6 late payments that are aging. They won't help me so its staying.

While this was going on I apped for Fingerhut, approved for 250$...

Few months later once my scores rose towards 520-530 I tried another card (VS) got lucky, but I would use a secured card...Then the scores went up from there...

Added Cap One, NY&C few months later, then Amazon just this month...

So litterly 0 to hero in 11 months... 480s to 620s... 0$ in credit to 2,200$ in credit...

More progress has happened since I last chimed in....

Cap One has been great, 1.5k credit increase from 500 to 2k.. Quicksilver one.

Cap One Platinum from 500 to 1k

VS increase from 850 to 1050$

NYC increase from 250$ to 850$

Added Wells Fargo personal credit line for furniture - 1.5k

Only few late payments now..and they just passed the one year mark...

Total credit available is over 7,000$! from 0 just a year ago...

Congrats!! You will love your Amazon card.  I started with a $700 limit and now am at $5,000.  They are very generious and the 0% promotional periods are awesome!
