Pretty ecstatic as I simply can't believe I'm finally back with AMEX. I filed for BK7 2/2016 , AMEX was included in the BK7. I burned them for approx 9-10k.
Since then I have slowly rebuilt my credit portfolio. I currently have 2 cards, a Venture X with a 35k limit and Apple Card with a 8200 limit. Credit scores according to FAKO 680+ .
I DID NOT pay them back. I did wait the 5 years and 1 month, but I kept on getting auto declined and got the message about have a previous account they cancelled.
Then earlier this year the auto declines stopped, however they would put under reasons for denial "derragatory something something" bankruptcy to current?". I figured well at least they're processing the app.
Once every few months I'd hit the prequal site and nothing, I'd then apply anyways and same message appears.
Fast forward to this morning, I check the prequal link and still nothing. I apply for the Gold Card anyway and this time it goes to ask me to link my accounts and or upload bank documents. I performed both and I checked my status again this afternoon and it tells me I'm approved.
some data points that maybe of some guidance. Untilization is at about 30-40% at time of app, no lates or derogs in the last 8-9 years. Inquiries are probably at about 8 in the last 2 years.

Tip: When you get your metal card, look in the "Member Since" section, you'll see your original YEAR.
It's cool how you keep your seniority even after all that trouble. After IIB C7 in late 2001, I got back into Amex in 2021 and my since date says "01" tha's a 20 year gap.
