First post. So, a little run down:
I have been rebuilding my credit after making some mistakes, including settlements with Amex Chase and Citi, about 5 years ago. Cap1 was the first to give me a card, then Apple Barclays last year, Chase approved me for a Freedom over the summer and a Slate most recently. Discover is the the final in the sequence. I've been maybye a touch aggressive in the last year. Im thinking that it's time to exile myself to "the garden" for a while.
All this considered, and hearing stories, I thought that Amex would never forgive. I tried for the Delta last spring and got denied. Over the Xmas break I decided to give the PRG a shot....and got approved. SHOCKED to say the least. Two weeks later I tried for a ED Preffered....but no good this time. They cited a list of reasons why I wasn't approved, which made me curious why they approved me for the PRG. Afer reading success stories on the forum, I called for a recon, but they said that their was nothing that could be done. I explained that I had just been instantly aprroved for the PRG two weeks prior and I got: "Given what is on your CR, I'm not sure how you got approved. You might want to reapply.".
Does anyone think it benefits me to call back again for a recon? Do I call it a day and watch the garden grow for a while?
Thanks everyone!!
Grats on your PRG ![]()
I would not call again there is no recon unless there is an error on your CR, I would address what they were referring to before re applying.
Thanks GDale! My gut was saying the same thing, but it was worth asking.

You have some great cards. I would just hang out in the garden for while and let your new prg chill. Do you have any baddies? The CSRs comment makes me wonder, have you looked at your CR? Maybe worth a look.
Thanks KAttack. I have a few baddies that have a 2 years to fall off. 1 collection and a tax lein and a handful of settled accounts. I'm surprised that I've gotten the cards that I have now. To the garden I go...
Congrats on your PRG approval!
