I currently have a Citi Prestige card (SP Yesterday for $7k) and an AA card. Just app'd for Strata Elite. Got an immediate message to call 866-606-2787 for additional verification. Called and entered last 4 of Social and got message that my application
was approved for $21,900. When I add all CL with Citi it is $99,900 which I assume is internal limit without tax returns? I know Citi does not do CL allocations but would love to move CL from AA to Elite. Any experience with that happening?
Citi used to allow moving some credit limits when in the process of closing an account, but as far as I know that hasn't been the case for many years. I would be interested in hearing some more recent data points to see if there has been any policy change.
That's what I thought. I'm going to try underwriting tomorrow to test. Anyone know direct number?

Tomorrow is Saturday. Might want to wait until Monday for more senior staffing.
Confirm your post. Citi has been very good about reallocation upon card account closure but nothing more.
Will add, they used to require a $500 credit limit on the closed account (dedcuted from the credlit limit to be reallocated) based on my own experiences which are several. Also, have read over time that Citi has required $1000 credit limit to remain upon account closure (long time back).
Congratulations! @nccarguy1
Sounds like Citi gave you a solid SL on the Strata Elite. That $99,900 total CL definitely looks like you’re brushing up against their internal cap without tax docs. From what I’ve seen, Citi won’t do a straight CL reallocation like Amex or Chase, so moving AA’s limit over might be tough. Still, it’s worth a quick call to see if they’ll consolidate by closing AA and shifting part of the line. Worst they can say is no.
Good for you. Congrats on your Strata approval.
