Our resident Aven hypeman @ElvisCaprice turned me on to a new offering from Aven for 6% grocery (10k annual cap) and 2% unlimited. This is my highest category spend and seemingly trumps all other grocery cards. So, I applied yesterday and was immediately approved for 12k at 21.74%. My newest CC had not yet reported, the statement cut today, the day after apping for the Aven card. Otherwise I was 6-7 months from my youngest CC. I had 3 inquires on Exp including a CLI request from this month, an auto loan from April, and my CCC from Sept-2024.
A couple of nuggets from the past 24 hours:
*"By signing, you are agreeing that the above info is accurate and also signing Form 4506-C , which authorizes us to request your two most recent tax returns to confirm income."
*On the congrats page, they are pushing to also accept the Home Equity card (3% CB with auto-pay) - so both cards? It also noted that I had completed steps 1 and 2 (apply and card shipped). Step three was verification of my identity and income (confirmed about 24 hours later). Step four is earning the 6% cash back on groceries.
*Experian alerted to a new installment loan inquiry on your credit report.
*It appears that the MCC codes for the 6% (5411, 5499) might include more than just my regular grocery store (convenience store, Walmart).
*Immediate attempts to setup auto pay with my bank, to insure 2% CB and not 1%, didn't appear to take. This morning the banking information showed up without having to try and add a 3rd time.
*Roughly 24 hours after applying, I had a string of texts and an email stating my income was verified. I was then asked to submit front and back of my DL and provide my glamour shot.
*Another string of texts that I'm all setup short of activating the physical card (5-10 business days).
*My account information still says 1% rewards, even though auto-pay is turned on.
*No information on the account mentions 6% grocery CB, as of yet.
*Next statement set to cut on Nov-18.
Aside from adding more cards (Langley, Kroger, AmEx, Discover) I think I should have the vast majority of my spend covered at this point.

Congrats! Are you scrapping your dream of attaining the AAA Daily Advantage next spring? This Aven card frees up your Citi Custom Cash card, right? What will that become for you? Gas?

This replaces any need for the AAA. Custom cash moves to dining. Gas is covered by the company card. Though I do have my eye on the 5432 card since I missed out on the OG SYW.
I haven't decided if there will be an app this spring now that this came up, or just wait a year before we have to finance the next vehicle for P2.
Oh, and I do blame you and your recent spree for not sticking to my original game plan.

Congratulations!! Looking forward to the data points. They say 5 to 10 days for receiving the card but most get it in 5 business days. There may have to be a little interaction with Aven since it's so new, this reward offering, with a phone call. But I've never found them not to be up and up. It's also a NO FTF CC.

When you get the card, how about a pic? I'm curious if it looks like the 3% card, which is all black, with Aven in Gray on the front.
Congrats! Do they require a certain income to have this card? Also do they take debit cards for payment? Looking at the page more, it seems it's 6% for all purchases not just grocery up to $20k, then 2%. I cannot imagine spending $10k on groceries for a whole year though. That's a lot of food especially if you use coupons and shop lower priced things.

$20k? It's always been $10k. Link? And I think the 3% card page has a typo, showing 6%. Sloppy.
A couple of updates on the rewards confirmation:
*as of today, my account still shows a 1% CB.
*emailed on 11/6 to confirm the 6% grocery and 2% CB rewards.
*automated response within three hours that they are looking into it.
*11/8 response that the inquiry was passed on to their team for review. expect response due within two business days.
*11/10 partial response - "We can confirm that your account is successfully enrolled in autopay for the minimum due amount. As for the cashback rate displayed in the app, our team is currently reviewing this and will provide you with an update once available. We appreciate your patience in the meantime."
No word specifically toward the 6% grocery.
