I was considering applying for a BBVA Secured Optimizer card but I put that idea on hold as I just received my $500 Secured Discover IT card in the mail yesterday. The bank rep at BBVA called me today for follow up on our earlier conversation, and for grins I asked if they could do a SP preapproval for an unsecured CC. She said yes, took my info, and called back with an approval for an unsecured BBVA ClearPoints Credit Card with a SL of $2,500(my highest CL to date). I had the option between the Rewards and the ClearPoints card, but as I had no present need for BT she recommended the ClearPoints card. No additional UW required and I was advised card estimated delivery in 7-10 days.
I don't have any other other accounts with BBVA but was considering opening a checking account with them when I initially contacted them so now I'll have to decide if I want to do so. They are conveniently located to me, and have a free checking option, but no rush just yet unless it will improve my odds for future CLIs and/or additional cards.
The CC approval HP on my EX(my 3rd this year), last checked 648, so I'll garden for awhile now and let both cards report the CRA. I received my Cap1 and nRewards in February, and Self loan in January(my first tradeline on my Ch7 rebuild). I still hope to app for a second NFCU card later this year, after my nRewards graduates, but think I'm good for now. =)
