BCE approved. can I request amex cli more than 3x in the future?

Applied bce last night and got the call back massage, address verification. Called this morning, 15 mins on phone with the customer service, I got approved for 1k, just 1k.

Provided all the successful decent cl approvals this week, 1k is a little disappointing. But, in the future, any amex card approval will be backdated to 2013, right?

Can I request cli more than 3x after 61 days since most of the recent approvals are 8k and up.

What's the risk or disadvantages if the cli request is more than 3x?

It's probably because of your other higher limits.
Amex won't approve higher than 3x. But you can get the 61 day 3xcli then get another at 6 months and another after 6 more mos.

Under the sticky list, there's a thread with the very subtle name, "The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide"  Wonder if that could be useful here....  Let's see...

American Amex credit limits are capped at 200% increase. Update: Requesting CLI > 3X no longer results in automatic denial. If the account is eligible for CLI, then new limit is counter offered keeping the 200% cap in effect(meaning CLI counter offered will not exceed 3X current limit under any scenario)

If your approvals are recent, Amex will not be aware of them. The $1k can grow as long as your util and inq's are kept to a minimum.

1k just isn't enough...

You can try, but they rarely do it. Doesn't mean they don't though. They might also require you to submit tax docs and other relevant documentation, so if this is too troublesome or just something you don't want to do, then most likely it's not doable.

I also wouldnt tell them you just opened a number of other cards with higher limits, that is more likely to scare them than help you

Yeah, these days issuers want to limit your limits based more on income rather than primarily FICO score. Heh silly CARD Act.
