BCE approved with high CL wow

have 3 CC never got CLI with 500, 2600 and 3800 CL. the newest card was applied during Nov 2013 and oldest card was applied during Jun 2012. Recently, I got an offer from AMEX for BCE and decided to pull the trigger. To my surprised, I was approved with 8K CL on my first AMEX product using the same information that I applied the third CC. not sure what AMEX is moking, but I'm happy about this initial CL ad hope AMEX doesn't take it back

one question though. is it possible to do 3X CLI after 60 days to bump CL to 24K? for up to 3000 CL, the 3X bump isn't that big, but for this initial CL, the 3X bump is huge.

Congrats! It's possible if your income justifys it, they could counter offer also. I think it's 61days for the first CLI and 180 days after on any other CLI on your AMEX cards. Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing.

that's where I learned about AMEX 3X CLI, but I looked at a few posting and I didn't see anyone trying to do 3X CLI with more than 4K initial CL, but there were lots of successful stories. that makes me wonder if I wil even be abel to do CLI beyond 15K from the initial CL

They do but $25k or more you risk financial review. Most try to avoid that unless they really have their ducks in a row. They worry after review of credit limit decrease or closure.  If you income supports it nothing to worry about. Search the board at top of the page AMEX CLI you will see lots of huge CLIs.

my friend was approved for $11k and he asked for an even $30k on his 61 days and was instantly countered at $23k

Congrats!   And yes, on the 61st day, ask for $24K.  If you don't get it all, they'll counter.  No harm in asking.
