Back in with AmEx

I didn't intend to do this yet--just wanted to see if I was still blacklisted--but somehow my finger just didn't listen and pushed the accept button.  Approved for BCP, SL 9900.

ETA: Double pull, TU and EXP.

My charge-off with AmEx was a BCE, back in early 2018, so I've been blacklisted just short of 8 years. This approval signals the last vestige of a very tough time.

Re: Back in with AmEx

Congratulations on getting back in with Amex.

I have a completely unscientific method of knowing I am still black listed with Amex.  After filing, all other bank and credit accounts disappeared from the respective apps.  Except Amex.  When I open the Amex app they still show my Amex Platinum (with my annual fee) and my Delta Reserve with outstanding balance.  Of course there is a large red banner saying "This account is cancelled".  So I am guessing that as long as my old accounts are still showing after 3 years their computer will not show me kindness...

Re: Back in with AmEx

No, I wouldn't expect any love from them after just 3 years. Sorry.

They actually removed my c/o from my reports after 5 years, but they kept calling me until about a year ago. I've heard tales of 10 or more years.

Re: Back in with AmEx

Congratulations!  I burned them in BK in 2018 but got back in with them last year with a Delta AMEX Gold.  CL not as robust as yours but I am back in good standing.

Congrats on getting back in with them!!

So you burned them for less than $5K with not a penny of repayment I'm assuming?

Thanks for the data points, interesting that they did a double HP.   Guess they wanted to be really sure before they let you back in but getting a SL of almost $10K from them is great, congrats! Smiley Very Happy
