App’d for JetBlue and Uber back to back. 1HP Auto Approved for jet blue and denied for Uber. Called to recon a higher SL on JB and approval for Uber... got put in the First 48 interrogation room with a “try back in 6-12 months We want to see how you handle the jet blue card” mind you My jet blue was a $4500 approval, I closed my 3 year old barclay rewards w/ perfect history and always PIF on the same phone call and consolidated the $1500 CL into the JetBlue once I was denied a SL increase at the beginning of the call on the Jb.
Hung up, called back next day about the Uber card, another denial ... I gave up. Read some more threads about barclay recon success and decided to try again... spoke to a new UW, which I could tell from the beginning of the call was a nice guy and was engaged in my 4x points plea about why I need this Uber card. In case you are wondering I told him “Listen Michael, I travel a lot for business these days (currently in Colombia) I’m spending $200-$300 a week between Uber and Uber eats... I need this card bro, I need those 4 points Michael!!!”... just like that. BAM!!! APPROVAL 😁
Transferred me to a CSR to verify my identity who then said congrats on your $500 SL buahahaha.i wasn’t about to push my luck. I thanked her called back a few hours later and then shifted $1,000 of JetBlue credit line over to the Uber for a self imposed $1,500 CL.
Point of this thread guys is work the system to your advantage to get the results you wanted. Don’t give up on recon if you’ve got a hard nose power happy pencil pusher on the phone hang up and call back until you get a human being with a pulse. I thank this board and members for the education and I’m just trying to pay it forward.
