Apped on Labor Day to an instant denial

called to recon and was told the denial was overturned but I needed to speak with Customer Security 

they asked me to send in a utility bill/ bank statement and copies of DL and SS card

They rejected the copies because I wrote the application ref # on the page

so I sent new copies,     They said they never received them

so I faxed copies at lunch today

called in and they transferred me to three different depts 

the last one informed me that I had been approved for the  Barclay's AAdvantage® Aviator® Red World Elite Mastercard®

With a sl of $1k

they pulled Experian (750) because my tu was frozen 

Monday is my day off so I might call to see if I can recon the starting limit.

Honestly I just wanted the SUB

60k points for your first purchase and paying the annual fee within the first 90days

I am going to try to recon the sl but if not I'll just spend the points on a rental car on my next trip and cancel the card before next years fee hits.     

who knows maybe I'll get a retention offer of a fee waiver and some points when I call to cancel in 11 months.

Glad it worked out.  Barclays changed their CLI policy a couple months back and can now be reqeusted online via SP so you may have luck in a few months if your SL recon doesn't happen

Go ahead and call for recon,  IME their underwriters are in comparison approachable and getting you off the phone as quickly as possible isn't a priority.
